International video exhibition 4-6 September 2008 Centro per l`Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato
The Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art (Viale della Repubblica, 277) in Prato will be hosting Videominuto, international exhibition featuring one minute’s videos.
With more than 300 works from 40 countries, it is a new taste of pop-TV that showcases contemporary creativity in a workshop style.
Videominuto, this year, in its 16th edition, continues to serve as a forum for research as a new source of entertainment, which combines technical experimentation and intelligent comedy. The main point of the festival is the desire to enquire into how brevity of format, as the only binding condition imposed upon the authors, influences video-work in terms of impact, stylistically choices and content.
Videominuto offers 60 seconds to the authors, open to all types of subject matter, free and open to themes ranging from social documentary to news item, from video art to electronics and to the purely experimental.
Videominuto represents one of the few exhibitions that, although characterized by a high profile, in form and content, has managed to secure a really popular participation: both on the side of the producers and on that of the audience coming to watch the current state of affairs in terms of the hottest socio-political themes and most interesting scenarios.
