21st edition, from 16-20 July 2008 in Certaldo near Florence. A unique, international gathering of street performers and artists that travel here from all parts of the world to perform in public and behind closed doors. The Mercantia Festival is really part of theater, part of festival, and part of market, all done with a medieval spirit.

The streets and the squares of the medieval town animate with artists, musicians, acrobats, artisans who practice their crafts producing works of art with iron, wood, ceramics, and glass.

There will be the great street parades with bands, theatre groups from the all continents, museums, jugglers, pantomimes, fire eaters and ballad singers. But that's not all. There will be also a wide selection of cold and hot dishes, traditional Tuscan specialties, offering a varied and surprising mix of flavors to delight everyone.
