From 8 December to 9 January, Pescaglia, province Lucca. Several years ago a speleologist group created a very original and stunning nativity scene in a cave - “Presepe in Grotta”. It was been born from the small Alpine Speleological Group Valfreddana (GSAVF); a great enthusiasm to show the underground world to many people and to make something new. Prepared in a wonderful deep cave more than 30 meters, of easy access and with the frame of an underground natural lake, the Manger is visit able every day from 10 to 19 hours. The Cave catches up with one easy walk of 15 minutes long the botanical path of the Campore. The knee-high figures of Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the Wise Men, shepherds, cattle, sheep and angels are positioned on the edge of the cave's natural 6 meter deep lake and stand among the stalagmites and stalactites. A generator provides electricity and soft music and lights enhances the beauty of this annual event. To reach this artistic creations take the Lucca road and turn off at Diecimo on your left. Follow the signs for Pescaglia, and just before you get there, you will see signs for Convalle - this is the road that will take you to Colle Scale. Drive as far as you can, park your car and follow the clear signage for about 100 meters to the entrance of the cave.
