The park protects some of the largest and best preserved woods in Italy. Four nature paths are available in the most popular tourist areas. The park has selected a group of guides. Theme-excursions are organized periodically in the main areas, especially in summer. At the heart of the park are the well-known state owned Casentine Forests, whose ancient history is tied, in particular, to the work of the Camaldoli monks. The monks took care of the woods and in the Middle Ages established the fundamental rule that whoever cut down a plant would be punished. The wildlife in this area is beautiful and the forest of Casentino speaks the language of meditation and silence, spirituality touches you deep in a natural, heart-felt way. You will feel emotions and you will feel richer than you ever could have imagined. The monks understood this! You can reach the park by train from the railway stations of Arezzo, Florence, and Pratovecchio or by taking the bus service.
